Well there is little excuse for most of us now, we are ready to start the Moria raids. With a cut down group sizes, and significantly reduced completion times, space is obviously limited, so signing up here on the forum is imperative. Also class slots will become a factor, so the likelihood of us having a couple different groups is good.
This isn't, however, a sign up thread, that will come hopefully in the next couple days for this Friday (1-09-09). What I want here is suggestions of group make-up from those experienced with the raids. We now have 9 classes to choose from and 6 spots to fill (12 for the Vile Maw, but I'm guessing that should be saved for later), so what classes are crucial to have and which can be swapped around?
Finally, which one(s) should we do this Friday?

If there is one thing I have learned form the Moria Instances, its that no ONE class is "needed", That includes Minstrels. Never Believe anyone who says we need this class or that class, there is no "need". Of course having a dedicated healer is helpful, but I have been in groups with 2 Captains (on my Guard) and we have beat the instance. There are so many instances to do. Right now the only new "Raid" is the Vile Maw, However, in order to do it each raid member must have their Radiance gear. This requires people to run every instance over and over until they get thier drop, something we need to factor in. Some runs take 20-30 minutes, some take 45-60 minutes. Again, something we need to factor in if we are to gear up everyone so we can raid the Maw. I would imagine that with all the effort Turbine took making the radiance gear a necessity, future raid additions will also require radiance. Hard Mode Initiated by:Grand Stairs: Reaching the Boss in 10 Minutes After Killing the very First Mini Boss Forges: After 1st Boss dies, getting to and Killing the last Boss in 30 Minutes (There are 2 Bosses in between) Fil Gashan: Cannot Kill more than 3 Sentry's Skumfil: Have Key (Key is retrieved by a quest, Kill queen and loot quest start item, return to Shadow Refuge and get second part of quest to get drop from King, Return to Shadow Refuge and Turn in for key) 16th Hall: Do not Kill any Bugs while Killing the last Boss (The Lost One) Dark Delving: Kill Last Boss in the Dark Hard Mode Loot:Grand Stairs: Radiance Set Boots Forges: Radiance Set Chest Fil Gashan: Radiance Set Gloves Skumfil: Radiance Set Pants 16th Hall: Non Set Radiance Shoulders Dark Delving : Non Set Radiance Helm Vile Maw: Radiance Set Helm AND Shoulders The Last Boss in these instances all drop some nice shiny teals also (Pocket, Jewelry, Shields, etc...) The two cloaks that I believe are the two best in the Game are the One that Drops from the Queen in Skumfil (for Melee) and the book 6.8 Random drop off last boss (for Casters). This should inspire to run book 6.8 over and over (pool wise) I see a potential problem with people saying we are getting clicky because it will only be us who use the forums that run Friday nights due to we use the forums to signup and organize. I say Potential, I think most of our members are above that I have more to add but I am finally back at work so I will add as work permits

We need to decide how to go about this. For example, do we run Grand Stairs over and over til everyone has their boots? Do we rotate Instances? Do we rotate people per run? Once I get up to speed at work and a real sleep schedule I will also be on during the week again so we can always get a run or 2/3/4 during the week. Ideas Ideas Ideas, Lets hear em I vote for Over and Over with Rotating people, we can almost make any group work. So say Friday Night is Grand Stair Night. We run GS, whoever gets the boots drops for next run as long as we have others who need. If we only have 6 we can run over and over til all have. I just though of another variable, Quests. Quests and Radiance Piece can go hand in Hand, but not if we are to equip a few people with Radiance that night. To do all GS quests, we need a couple hours, to do Radiance Boots GS runs we only need 20-30 minutes per run. So we need to decide if we are running to Quest or running to equip. (more to come here as well lol)

Here is what Serna and I were thinking:
We have a sign up here on the forum midweek for Friday evening starting at around 8pm. Out of those who sign up, we organize them into logical 6-man groups. This would be a first come first serve basis, so if 15 people sign up, the first 12 would be organized into two 6-man groups, and the other three left over would be available as alternates to take the spot of those that do not show up on time (so don't be late or you may lose your opportunity). Since we have a few non-kin using the forum, they're allowed to sign up as well, but will be moved immediately behind any kin on the list. Any kin or friends who are online when we start, but did not sign up on the forums, will be considered as an alternate as well but not ahead of any (kin or otherwise) who signed up here.
As far as running the same instance over and over, that is probably best left to the groups themselves. Take a vote, I'm sure if somebody needs to finish their class quest in one instance, it shouldn't be a problem with the rest of the group to help them out (and if it is a problem, you might want to rethink why you're in this kin).
Finally, this is supposed to be an opportunity to see these instances together, and have fun like we always do. All of us are dying to get to the watcher, but we shouldn't be in any big kind of hurry since there are no locks on the smaller raids and can do them at your leisure. Because of that, this is more of a kin event than the rift was, considering you only got to do the rift once on each character a week.
We really want to avoid having the same group together time after time with this and give everybody who wants to go a fair opportunity. If we come to find this isn't working out, it will be changed around.

This I like, I spent so much time running these over and over for the radiance gear because thats all PuG's were interested in. It will be refreshing to go in with no agenda and just have fun. We really want to avoid having the same group together time after time with this and give everybody who wants to go a fair opportunity. If we come to find this isn't working out, it will be changed around. This is what I was refering to when I mentioned Clicks so if 15 people sign up, the first 12 would be organized into two 6-man groups I don't think we have 15 People who regularly use this forum lol (but with the amount I post I count for like 2.5-3 people )

Ok well so ar I am 4/6 in the instances. Corkus, Mattheo, Aurkidea, and myself figured out Skumfil tonight and I stayed on and got the key so we can run that pretty easily. (Plus I still want the earring and cloak from there.) If anyone needs the chest I suggest we run that before they fix it cause as is you can pretty much run straight to the boss and we should be able to do a run every 20-30 minutes or so if thats what we want to do. GS is easy and a few of us can lead that for the boots. One I have finished, but still need to fine tune is Fil Gashan. As for 16th Hall and Dark Delving, I don't know how to beat those yet, but will learn one of them tonight, if not both. So anyone that needs help on their radiance gear let me know.

When the Hell do U play AC, I never see you lol. I would like to get my second half of key, the more that have it the better. But I am Game for whatever. We Ran GS last night, Had a successful run then we we wiped twice on Iglash. I had to go but otherwise we would have beaten him again, if they didnt replace me and beat him anyway
